Recently, I was given a copy of the book, “Peace, Love, and Lemonade, a recipe to make your life sweeter,” by Nancy Stampahar. Though the book is packaged brightly, it is small enough to fit in your pocketbook or backpack or briefcase without making it feel cumbersome. You have heard the cliché, about smaller packages of dynamite can deliver a HUGE explosion or something to that effect? Well, Stampahar makes this more than just a self-help book; she delivers her poignant positive take on the old metaphor, “When life hands you lemons, make lemonade,” with a loud bang. Instead of utilizing the big technical words that most self-help writers seem to adore throwing in their instructions on how to make the best of your life, Stampahar, in using her on life experiences, keeps it simple, and shows how one can use practical, everyday applications to live a happy and fulfilling life. It is a good book to keep close by when you need a little pick-me-up, instead of using that 400 grams of sugar you grab that comes in a plastic bottle, or to keep in your bathroom for easy reading.
